Johor is located on the southernmost tip of the Malay Peninsula, and the capital city is Johor Bahru.
Singapore is connected to Johor by 2 bridges.
In Johor, major petroleum and petrochemical companies established their offices in the state due to its strategic location as a refinery hub for Petroleum and petro-chemical industries which serves as a global distribution hub.

Iskandar Economic Region.
This Economic and Property region serves as a gateway to Singapore due to its close proximity and its potential area for developments.

The plan for the economic region which kickstarted in 2006, more than US$6.8 Billion has already been invested as of 2023, and the investment momentum is on a growing trajectory.
Along with this, many employment opportunities have been created, and the trend of population inflow and income has increased tremendously.

1) Infrastructure projects in Johor (transportation network)

① Johor Bahru - Singapore Subway (RTS)
In 2020, the long-awaited plan to connect the Johor side of the Singapore subway in Malaysia and Singapore has been officially decided, and construction has begun.
Expected to be completed by 2026, and upon it’s completion, up to 300,000 people will be commuting between the two countries every day, and Johor is expected to become a commuting zone for Malaysian working in Singapore.
It has also been announced that the station on the Johor side will be located at Bukit Chagar in the center of Johor Bahru.

② IBRT (Iskandar high-speed bus transportation system)
IBRT is a high-speed bus transportation system (bus-only route) that covers 90% of Johor, especially the Iskandar area, with 3 routes, 39 new stations, and a total length of about 300 km.
Of the three lines, the Iskandar Puteri line is scheduled to be completed at the end of 2023,
and the other two lines (Skudai line and Tebrau line) are scheduled to be completed at the end of 2024, and three lines will be connected to Bukit Chagar Station, where the Mass Rapid Train (MRT) station to Singapore is located.
This will significantly improve connectivity in the Iskandar area and will contribute to economic development.

2) Advantages of investing in Johor

(1) close proximity to Singapore with many direct international flights from Singapore International Airport (Singapore)
(2) the opening of excellent international schools and universities in Johor, (including famous universities from Europe and the United States)
and
(3) a designated Special Economic Zone called the Medini district.
